Herecordedhisexperiencesandimpressionson?China?throughletterstohisfamilymembersandfriendsinthe?US?overthepastdecades.Thebook?OfftheWall—HowWeFellforChina,including47ofhisletterswrittensince1988,recordsanddisplaysChinaschangesduringthecountrysreform(改革)andopening-upprocessfroma?perspective?ofaforeignerlivingandworkinginChina.ItwaspublishedinbothChineseandEnglishinlate2018.

In2019,herestartedhisjourney,enablinghimtoseehow?China?hadchangedoverthepast25years,acountrywhichhesaidhadneverdisappointedhim.
