Board Design Ⅰ.Analysis of the teaching material (一) Status and Function This is an important lesson in this book. The topic is music. Such a topic is related to their interests and daily life, so it is helpful to raise learning interests of students and to improve their ability of appreciating music. It can help students to attain “four skills” ——listening, speaking, reading and writing. Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material. (二) Analysis of the students Most students are interested in music. So this topic can greatly attract their interests. It can spur their passion to learn English well and know more about music. After learning this lesson, they will know how to express their preferences in English and share their opinions with others. (三)Teaching aims and Demands Language knowledge aims : a. Enable the Ss’ to grasp some words and expressions such as, lyric/gentle/musician/to sing along with/dance to and so on. b. To use the relative clauses with that and who easily. Ability aims : a.
