geographical position It is a district in Los Angeles, California, situated west-northwest of Downtown Los Angeles . Due to its fame and cultural individuality of movie studios and movie stars, its name is often used as a connotation(含义) for the cinema of United States which is popularly known as the film Industry. Many historic theaters are used as venues（场所） and concert stages to premiere major theatrical releases and host the Academy Awards. It is a popular destination for nightlife and tourism. Origination of her name Comes from “holly”, which means 冬青树 in Chinese. When Spanish explorers first entered the area now known as Hollywood, Native Americans were living in the canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains.
