商务英语能力提升探微 吉林大学公共外语教育学院 李 朝 2009年5月23日 第五届体验商务英语教学（北方）论坛 长春 1.商务英语学习的范畴 1.1 英语语言学习 侧重实践环节：听、说、读、写、译 1.1.1 由Lan Wood、Paul Sanderson、Anne Williams、Catrin Lloyd-Jones合编的《新编剑桥商务英语》（中级）和（高级）前言里开宗明义：“The major emphasis is on the development of language skills for work : reading, writing, listening and speaking.” 1.1.2 Mary Ellen Guffey 编的Business English，在前言中提到：“ Over the past 15 years, Business English has helped hundreds of thousands of students improve their language skills. It was written to assist you in reviewing English grammar, punctuation, style, and usage. By improving your control of these language principles, you’ll feel more confident about yourself. You’ll also have a strong foundation for becoming a more effective business communicator.” 1.1.3 由Ian Mackenzie编的 English for Business Studies, 在Introduction中：“English for Business Studies is an upper-intermediate to advanced level reading , speaking , listening and writing course for learners who need to be to express the key concepts of business and economics in English.” 1.1.4 由David Cotton、David Falvey、Simon Kent编写、体验商务英语改编组，高等教育出版社出版的Market Leader ,在Introduction中同样阐明: “ If you are in business , the course will greatly improve your ability to communicate in English in a wide range of business situations. If you are a student of business, the course will develop the communication skills you need to succeed in business and will enlarge your knowledge of the business world. ” 1.2相关学科的知识学习 1.2.1涵盖众多学科(见图） 1.2.2各个学历层次所涉及的知识面及深度（见图） 1.3 商务英语与专门用途英语知识面学习的异同 1.3.1 Mark Ellis和Christine Johnson在Teaching Business English中对商务英语的概述 ： “As with other varieties of ESP, Business English implies the definition of a specific language corpus and emphasis on particular kinds of communication in a specific context . However, Business English differs from other varieties of ESP in that it is often a mix of spe
