Abstract: A concise review of the couse of development nd future prospects of the world. s nucle r power gener tion
technique is presented, together with n elucid tion of intern tion l requirements, concerning nucle r power sets of the third
gener tion, in respect to s fety nd economy, s well s me sures t ken for meeting these requirements. Expl ined in
ddition is the AP1000 w ter cooled re ctor of the third gener tion, nd the speci l fe tures of s fety design me sures, for
preventing or mitig ting consequences of serious ccidents. A pl n for developing nucle r energy systems of the fourth
gener tion is lso mentioned, with schem of its re liz tion, nd development l work to be done in this country.
