The Italian made an strong political statement with which he knew the American would disagree. The Italian wanted to involve the American in a lively discussion. But the American responded,“ Well, everyone is entitled to an opinion. I accept you opinion is different than mine.”…This made the Italian very angry. Why? Because the American did not enjoy verbal conflicts over politics or anything else. While the Italian usually want the conversational partners to get involved in any discussions. The Example Shows: This example shows how hard does culture influence communications and it represents two different communication styles.
