Hz radiation source is a crucial part of Hz techniques system. Some typical techniques of the generation of Hz radiation based on the opt ical methods, especially the nonlinear optical process such as difference frequency generation ( DFG) and Hz parametric generation ( PG) based on stimulated polariton scatt ering process, are briefly introduced and reviewed. he future of these tw o kinds of Hz generation methods is also forecast.
