Abstract: The infection of RSV( rice stripe virus) andW olbach ia inL aodepl hax striatellus w ere detected by DIBA( dotmi munobind
ing assay) and P R method respectively. Results showed that therew asw idespread prevalence ofW olbach ia infection inL. str iatellus,
butno obvious correlation was observed betweenRSV and Wo lbach ia infection. Besides, no mutualistic relationshipw as found during
the processes of vertical transm ission betweenRSV andWo lbach ia. These indicated that the transm ission of RSV and Wolbach ia inL.
str iatellus may be two relatively independent processes, although both RSV andW olbach ia could be vertically transmitted to the next
generation through the egg.
