Abstract: T r aditional cr itical neighbor ho od alg or ithm s f o r Jo b Shop scheduling problem w ere easily t rapped into local
optim al and h ardly to escape. T o deal w ith t his pro blem , a g lo bal neig hbo rhoo d sw app ing st rateg y w it h dynam ic
adap atability w as pr oposed. H ow ever, this new strateg y m ig ht possibly induce inf easible so lutio ns . T hu s, a new
pr oposition concerning the neig hbor hood sw apping str ategy w as presented and pr ov ed , w hich could be used to v erify
w hether a neighbor ho od sw app ing w as accept able or not . Based on this g lo b al neig hbo rhoo d st rateg y, a new alg o
r ithm w as develo ped and tested by a gr oup of benchm ark instances. T he r esult s indicated th at the new algo rithm ob
tained satisf actor y result s both on solut ion squality and computat ion tim e.
