Abstract : Section geometric propertie of channel with different bending degree of inclined imple edge tiffener are
gained by calculation. It i convenient for olving the buckling tre by hand. The te t trength and failure mode reported
by an experimental reference of axially loaded fixed-ended channel with inclined imple edge tiffener are compared with
the trength predicted u ing direct trength method. It i hown that direct trength method i valid for predicting the
tability capacity of ax ially loaded fixed-ended channel column with inclined imple edge tiffener , con equently it i
indicated that direct trength method which wa developed ba ed on the regre ion of pin-ended te t re ult i al o applicable
for calculating the tability capacity of fixed-ended column .
