Men are catching up with women, who now transport around ￡1,209 worth of items, as they adopt man bags to make a fashion statement or keep their wallets safe. ? The average man bag contains items worth around ￡880, a survey has revealed. The main items men carry are smartphones, laptops, tablets, glasses and digital cameras. Some also decide to pack a toothbrush, aftershave（须后水） and even spare underwear. ? The survey revealed more than half of men now carry around a bag and two thirds are concerned about security and carry their wallet safely in a bag rather than their pocket. ? One in nine (11 percent) said having a bag is more of a fashion statement, while one in 14 (seven percent) started carrying a bag because their partner complained about being asked to carry extra items in their already over-laden handbags. ?
