Zhejiang Electric Power Corporation, Hangzhou 310000, Zhejiang Province, China) ABSTRACT: Since the steady-state model and operation VSC-HVDC principle of voltage source converter (VSC) is totally different from the traditional high voltage direct current (HVDC) VSC-HVDC converter, optimal power flow (OPF) algorithm for traditional AC-DC system is not suitable for AC-DC system with VSC – based HVDC (VSC-HVDC). The paper presented a steady model of VSC-HVDC system, which was suitable for solving the OPF problem by using primal-dual interior-point method – (PDIPM) and predictor-corrector PDIPM (PCPDIPM). Based 0 on the steady model, DC network and AC system were combined together, and calculations of several testing cases were performed on this hybrid system.
