It is necessary to evaluate the current quality of the R.C. structures obj ectively. In the p resent pap er, a variable weight model is presented for comprehensive quality evaluation of existing reinf orced concrete members. Using attribute identification theory, weights are given according to the contribution rate of every evaluation fac tor to the quality of members. According to the given degree of confid ence, comprehensive quality evaluation of members is carried out and the characteristic state of the quality of members is determined. Based on the method, the members can be sorted into several evaluation classes. And to the same class, further subdivision can be carried out by comprehensive scores. An engineering example shows that this method is feasible to solve the p roblem of quality evaluation for ageing reinfo rced concrete members. Keywords: Reinfo rced concrete members Ageing diseases
