The expression of stress-strain curve of masonry under eccentric compression is proposed . By using of the assumption of plane section and equilib- rium of forces， the coefficient to covert the stress of masonry to the strength and the position of resultant force are ， deduced the formula of local compressive carrying capacity of masonry beneath beam-end is also deduced . The for- mula can take account of the influences of compression existing in the masonry . It has many merits such as clear ， concept simple calculation and wide application .
