Shanghai J iao Tong U n iversity, Shanghai 200083 , Ch ina) A b stract: Th is p ap er in troduces the theory and developm en t of th ree techno log ies of laser w e ld ing p rocess con tro l, w h ich inc lude ana lysis and eva luation of laser w eld ing qua lity by m on itoring the p lasm a p hotoe lectric signa l, keyho le and m o lten p oo l state, detection of stressconcen tration and p ore defect of the w elded seam by nondestructive exam ination m ethod, and on line detection of w elded seam su rface defects by com p u ter v ision techno logy. Several advanced seam v ision detection p roducts, w h ich have been u sed in laser w eld ing lines, are a lso in troduced.
