In th is ca se, the choice of mode s and m edia in a m u ltimodal discou rse comm un ication in a foreign language teach ing setting can be m ade from the fo llow ing three p ersp ec tive s: 1) it shou ld be ab le to p rovide new teach ing environm ents and facile condition s; 2) it shou ld be ab le to p rovide supp le m entary or enab ling condition s; 3) it shou ld be ab le to p rovide mu ltichannels for m ean ingm ak ing in a m u ltimodal discourse comm un ication , and enhance teach ing efficiency. A s for what typ e of discourse can be be st p re sented w ith what typ e of mode s or m edia, it rem ain s a top ic for further re search.
