CIM Computer Integrated Manufacturing 尚辅网 What does the word “integrated” mean? What is the meaning of CIM ( Computer Integrated Manufacturing )? The word “integrated” as an adjective here means “entire or whole or comprehensive.” The phrases CIM means the manufacturing process being controlled by a computer system as a whole. That is , a computer can be used as a controller of everything in manufacturing. 尚辅网 Why do we have to use such a system? What is the aim of CIM’ s use? The aim of its use is first of all to manufacture products more efficiently. A manufacturer has to produce the best product at the lowest cost in order to compete with others.
