                An Empirical Research of Factors Affecting Effectiveness of Social Network Service

ABSTRACT
In this paper we introduced the concept of social network service and summarized the current issues of SNS and studied empirically factors affecting effectiveness of SNS. A casual model was developed to conceptualize the relationship between issues to be resolved as antecedent variables and success factors as consequent variables with some intermediary variables. Then the model was tested empirically to find out meaningful relationships among those variables. Results of the study imply that for SNS providers to increase their SNS’s effectiveness they need to enhance social creativity which can be enhanced by increasing the SNS intelligence and user externalization and also enhancing community collaboration. SNS intelligence, community collaboration and user externalization turned out to be factors affecting significantly users’ social creativity.  User externalization was important factor affecting SNS intelligence. Also, community collaboration was an important factor affecting user externalization. This implies that SNS providers need to provide more intelligent and inspiring services for SNS users.

Peer-to-peer (P2P) computing or networking is a distributed application architecture that partitions tasks or workloads between peers. Peers make a portion of their resources, such as processing power, disk storage or network bandwidth, directly available to other network participants, without the need for central coordination by servers or stable hosts.
