On Negative Pragmatic Transfer in Intercultural Communication Abstract The term transfer is first defined by behaviorists to refer to the process of automatic，uncontrolled and subconscious use of past learned behavior in the attempt to produce new responses. Pragmatic transfer is one of the important contents of interlanguage pragmatics study. According to the pragmatic knowledge transferred, pragmatic transfer can be divided into pragmalinguistic transfer and sociopragmatic transfer. According to effects arising from pragmatic transfer,it can also be devided into positive transfer and negat
