湖南农业大学青年教师四项全能比赛英文演讲十佳 第一名：I?am?Learning?as?a?Young?Teacher 姓名:陈　曦 院系:外　语 院 Good evening everyone. It is my great honour and pleasure to be here tonight and give you a speech. As is introduced by the hostess, I am a teacher from the foreign languages college, but actually I am not teaching English. Instead as a German major, I am now teaching German to the English major students. So please forgive my nervousness and any of my mistakes, because I have just learnt how to make a speech in English. As a teacher, I am quite young, this is my second year in this university and I am often mistakenly taken by others as a student when being among them. So how to teach my students and even how to educate them is still something that I need to learn. As a young teacher, I am learning to be a good teacher and the experience Ive gained through this learning process makes my life full of surprises and excitements. It is also the experience that Id like to share with you tonight. About one year ago, I found a position in this university, and for some reasons, worked first of all as a guidance counselor in the Students Union. I spent most of my time to be with my students, supervising their life and study, organizing their extracurricular activities, and my most important work is to offer the students advice whenever they need help or do something wrong. Being with my students offered me a good chance to understand them. I found that, though they are my students, though they are so young and innocent, they are not without their independent thoughts. Therefore, instead of instructing the students what they should do or what they should not, I would always try to chat with them, listen attentively to them first, whenever I found they werent doing things in an improper way. Chatting like this helped me to build a smooth relationship with my students. They are willing to tell me their problems and accept my suggestions.
