Students will be able to:
1. Cultivate the listening skill of short conversations, long conversations and short passages.
2. Finish the listening tasks.
3. Enable the students to know the appropriate expressions of greeting and introducing people.
4. Guide the students to make a further discussion. Procedures and Activities:
Part I Lead-in( mins)
Warm-up Questions
(1) Where are you from?
(2) Why did you choose this university?
(3) What’s your major? Why did you choose it?
(4) How do you pay for school?
(5) What do you think is the most difficult when learning English?
Part II Basic Listening Practice (10 mins)
1.Listening Task (6 mins)
To listen to the 3 short conversations, and finish the listening exercises.
2. Listening Strategy (4 mins)

Part Ⅲ Listening In (25 mins)
1. Listening Task (20 mins)
Choose at least 2 tasks (suggested tasks: task 1, task3)

Part IV Speaking Out (40 mins)
1. Listening Task (20 mins)
(1) Play the video once continuously.
(2) Then play it once again and stop while students need to fill in the blanks.
(3) Check the answers.
(4) Play the video again, asking the students to repeat the dialogue sentence by sentence in pairs. Meanwhile, ask the students to imitate the characters’ pronunciation, tone of voice and even their facial expressions and actions.
(5) Suggested Models: Model 1, Model 3.
2. Speaking Task (20 mins)
