writing Purpose: 1.to concentrate on the language that the students are using. 2.to vary the adjectives and verbs so that their writing becomes more interesting and lively. Step one Before writing: Take each horizontal line of five students in the class as a team. Give a sheet of paper to the first person in the team. Step two Before writing: Please read the alternative words that can be used in stead of nice and is words used in stead of nice: Smart, clean, excellent, exciting, beautiful, wonderful, clever, famous, grand, great, huge, special, unusual,… words used in stead of be: seem, stand , lie, get, stay, remain, be built, look, sound, become, keep, grow,… Step three: Please look at this sentence and read it together: The temple was built long ago. Step four One student in each group write the sentence,and pass it to the next person who keeps the first change and makes a second one. The third person does the same. And so on to the end of the row. Step five Each group will show their works in front of the class. Step six Please check the examples: S1:The temple was built long ago. S2:The old temple was built long ago. S3:The old temple was built two hundred years ago. S4:The old temple was constructed two hundred years ago. S5:The temple was burnt down early last cerntury. S6:The temple was rebuilt in 1980s. Step seven Each group make their works better. Then present them in front of the class again. Step eight Please look at the picture and read the passsage on page16. Task: Though SiChuan is a beautiful place to visit, few people will choose Sichuan to travel after Wenchuan earthquake.
