Therefore the device designed by our group is exclusively used for dressing wheel quickly and safely. Early work had involved investigating the whole process of the hand-held diamond point dressing the wheel, learning the requirements of wheel dressing manually and the motion form of wheel dressing, and measuring the size of the wheel and the positional relationship between the wheel and the open platform. According to design requirements, the overall design was determined, then the design of Sliding Screw Pair, guide, Clamping Device, handle and other parts was finished and also the main parts were checked. Finally the wheel dresser’s process and making was successfully finished and inspected in metal working practical factory. Through the practical installation and application, the design device was demonstrated to be safe, convenient and have achieved the aim of removing the wheel’ cylindrical surface dull layer and make the surface smooth..
