Abstract Ob ective: To evaluate the prevalence of the nosocomial viral inf ection in patients and nurses, so as to taking up preven- tion measures. Methods : The antigens of eight viruses causing respiratory inf ections and the special antibodies of two viruses 699 in- patients, in 316 nurses and 253 controls w ere detected by APAAP and ELISA. Results Those w ho w ere positive in respiratory viral antigens detection in patients were significantly higher than nurses and cantrols ( P 0 . 05) . However, no significant diff erences w ere observed betw een nurses and controls .The nurses group had a higher CoxB virus inf ection rate than the controls( P 0. 05) . No signif icant diff erences were observed in CMV- IgM . A f ew patients w ere positive and other group w ere negative. Conclusions The nosocomial infection caused respiratory viruses betw een nurses and patients was easy to be controlled but patients w as easy to be in- fected. The RR of CoxB virus inf ection in nurses w as 2. 62 times of controls . CMV did not aff ect nurses greatly .
