Thegene encoding amino acids sequence is homology to mitochondrialATP synthase 6kDa subunit (F part of F F AT P synthase) 0 1 0 purified from potato ( Sol an um t uberos um ) mitochondrial by Jansch et al ( 1996) , but the function of this small protein is not clear and the gene has not been identified. In this report, the gene was cloned (accession number: AB055076) , its expression was characterized under carbonate stress. The calculated molecular weight of RMtATP6 gene encoding protein is 6578 kDa, the predicted intracellular localization sites is in mitochon 606 Molecular Plant Breeding drial intermembrane space.
