In recent years, being one of the main 3G standards, WCDMA has being a hotspot in the field of communication. In this paper, the WCDMA network principle and optimization was studied. First of all, the present situation and the advantages of WCDMA were introduced briefly, and refered to some key technologies. The second, the network structure of the WCDMA system and channel was introduced emphatically and research to the channels correspondingly(the structure, classifications and coding ways of channel were analyzed), and introduced the process of physical layer signal.The third, the respective selection and re-election for the specific area、control technologies of switching and power were presented. Then, I am to set out to analyz the business optimization process from the project and the business optimization methods and the matters needing attention of WCDMA. At last, I summerised some thoughts and methods for solving problems that once we encounter in our worklife through several engineering examples that tested on road in WCDMA network optimization. WCDMA system has a huge prospect for development, the research on its network principle and optimization is also very important. So we should learn the theoretical knowledge seriously and combine them with practice, absorbing predecessors’ experiences and lessons in work carefully, showing our abilities in our best.
