An automotive product design oriented virtual reality service platform was proposed to enable engineers to experience an immersive evaluating of design results and to improve the quality of design. The functional structure of the platform was given and in the meanwhile its established VR RD supporting environments, its four VR application service tool systems being developed (i.e., configuration DIY for cars, virtual driving for vehicles, car exhibition in 360 degree, and digital park for automotive industry), were described.
