Abstract The core-shell structural nano-composite material presents some novel phy sical and chemical proper-
ties because of special st ructure. The research pro ress in the synthesis of the inor anic-inor anic, in or anic-or anic,
and or anic-inor anic materials and their formation mechanisms are reviewed, and t heir applications in the area of ca-
taly sis, biomedicine, medicine cont rol release and photonic crystals are also discussed. Furthermore, the prospect of
the core-shell st ruct ural nano-composite material is forecasted.
