The concept, history, development of Internet of Things and its early application in modern agriculture were introduced firstly by the author. The key technologies of Internet of Things were analyzed，including RFID technology，sensor network and intellectual technology. The application of Internet of Things to agricultural production and scientific research was a big step towards the modern agriculture depending on the new application of information. It can change the extensive management of agriculture operation. It can also improve the prevention and controlling capability of animal or plant epidemic diseases to guarantee quality and safety of agricultural products, and it lead the modern agricultural development.
