This article summarizes the methods of Max imum Power Point Tracking ( MPPT ) , including the Perturb - and - observat ion Method and Incremental Conductance M et hod and points out the limitations and notes of those two methods. T his paper divides a number of different techniques for MPPT of PV arra s into four groups b the cont rol theor and development process of MPPT , anal ses their merits and demerits and compares methods w ith others. T he main aspects of t he MPPT techniques to be taken int o consid eration are highlighted in t he subsequent subsection. Finall , some feasible thoughts w ith new technologies for sol ving problem are discussed and its st ud direct ion in the future is also looked ahead. It is also indicated that M PPT in the single- stage inverter for PV s stems has become a hot research area at home and abroad.
