(2) would 指的是现在时间时，表示说话人的意愿或向对方提出请求，语气比will 婉转。也可表示委婉地提出看法、请求、建议等。 I would like to have a rest. I’m afraid the journey would be too expensive. “ I would do anything for our soldiers,” said the boy. (3) 表示过去反复发生的动作或过去的一种倾向。 On Sundays he would come and work with us on those days. (4) 用在虚拟语气中。 If you had come earlier, you would have seen him. 3. would 和 used to 比较 (1) 两者都表示过去的习惯性或经常性的动作或行为，常可换用。 When we were children, we used to / would go skating every winter. (2) would 主要表示与过去另一段时间相比，常与表示过去的时间状语连用，意为“总要，总是”；used to 主要表示与现在的时间相比，意为“过去经常” He would come to me when he was in trouble. I used to get early.
