Met hod ight- cured glass ionomer, light-cured composite resin and 3MF2000 compomer were applicated to restore 360 teeth with wedge-shaped defect of the teeth in the same body and the same conditions.They were followed up for 1. 5 to 2 years. Results In the F2000 group, only one restoration fell, and none of them had bad ada- pation and pulp symptom, the successful rates of the above indexes were significantly higher than that of composite resin group(P 0.05) , and similar to glass inomer group. On the other hand, all restorations of F2000 group were integrated except falling. The efficiency of this index exceeded significantly that of glass inomer group(P 0.01) , and similar to composite resin group.The total failure rate of F2000 group was 0. 83% and it was significally lower than that of composite resin group and glass inomer group. Conclusions 3MF2000 compomer is superior to glass ionomer cement and light-cured composite resin and is considered to be a better material for restoring wedge-shaped defect.
