However, the current available methods can not provide adequate support for detailed description of architecture aspects and their weaving logic. There is also a lack of effective mechanisms for the analysis and evaluation of these aspects. In this paper, a formal approach for the description of software architecture aspects and their weaving logic is proposed on the basis of Petri Nets, which is used as the common foundation for the behavioral and structural description. A simple example is given to illustrate the relevant concepts and models. The description ability of this approach is powerful, which can not only be used to describe the structure and behavior of complex aspects and the corresponding weaving logic, but also be used for the reasoning and evaluation of weaving effect.
