One control group was fed with common feed, another control groupwasfedwith highfattinessfeed, andthreetreatment groupswerefedwith different dosage of tablets of oligochitosan from housefly larvae andhigh fattinessfeed, respectively. After 28 days, the content of total cholesterol (TC) , triglyceride (TG) andhigh density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDLC) inthe serum of ratsweremeasured. The acute toxicity of the chewing tablets of oligochitosan was studied according to the guidelines of Chinese Traditional Medicine Pre-clinical Trial. Thetoxicosis reaction and death number of themousewererecorded successivelyfor 7 days, andthen its LD50 were calculated accordingly. The results showed that when rats were treated with the chewing tablets of oligochitosan, the contents ofTC, TG inrat serum decreased remarkably but HDLC increased significantly.
