ABSTRACT: A mi ed at the power shift clutch which isw ildly used in auto transm ission (AT ) vehicles nowadays,
this paper builds its virtual prototype by using popular CAD software Pro/E andmechanic dynam ic analysis software
ADAM S. And then, the papermakes a particular description on how the forces and torques affect the clutch during its
working process and obtains its dynam ic equations. Through dynam ic analysis on engagement and disengagement of
the clutch mode,l the paper gets acceptable results in its dynam ic performance compared with real condition and ob
tains a smi plifiedmethod for clutch design inADAMS. Furthermore, the clutch model can be also used as a subsys
tem in overall power- train virtualprototype system to do smi ulation and design for the future.
