Abstract:For the purpose of more sustainable utilization of water resources in Zibo City, the characteristics of water
resources and the status quo of water supply and water use are analyzed. Problems in the development and utilization of
water resources include over extraction of groundwater, severewater pollution, low utilization efficiency of surface water,
and high agricultural water use and waste. Measures for the sustainable utilization of water resources are put forward:
controlling the over extraction of groundwater, strengthening water pollution monitoring and management, establishing a
water saving society, optimizing the allocation of water resources, regulating water prices reasonably, clarifying water
rights, and establishing a water market.
