The new algorithm w as applie to solve economic ispatch problem of pow er systems, an asymmetrical penalty strategy w as use to construct more suitable fitness function an etaile calculation proce ure w as given. The algorithm w as teste an vali ate on 15 units an 40 units system. T he results show that the EPSO for economic ispatch ( ED) problem of electric pow er is pow erful an efficient.
