Daye Nonferrous Corporation, Huangshi, Hubei 435000, China Abstract In the present paper, a new process for removing nitrate in the preparation of PdCl2 from Pd(NH ) Cl was investigated, a composite nitrate removing agent composed of M O and HCl was 3 2 2 x y used. It was found that the content of NO3 in PdCl product was decreased with increasing in M O 2 x y and HCl contents from 0 to 60 mL and from 5 to 15mL for 10g Pd, respectively. Under the condition of pilot test 1kg Pd sponge, 7L aqua regia(1 1), 1L HCl(36%), 1.5L M O (35%), once-through x y operation of nitrate removing, the PdCl2 product with NO3 content 0.03% was produced.
