Dandong Pow er Plant of China Huaneng G roup, D andong 118300, China) A bstract: The barnaclesC htham a lus cha llengeri, a typical fouling organism s in northern China m aritmi e space, w ere cultivated under uniform environm ents w ith different tem perature in order to find the effect of environm ental tem perature on the rates of surviva,l dor m ancy and activity. The results show ed that the rate of surv ivaldmi inished evidently at 24. 0 and above, and all of the barnaclesper ished at 30. 0 . A t9. 0 over 9 % of the barnacles cam e into dormancy state, w hile all of them turned dorm ant at6. 0 . The results show a bound from 6. 0 to 23 inw hich the barnacle C. cha llengeri can live aptly.
