Teaching Difficult Points The adverbial clauses Teaching Preparation: pictures Teaching Aids: audiotape, flashcards, pictures Type of lesson: new lesson Teaching Procedure: Step1. Lead in by acting their favourite jobs out in front of the class. If they can’t perform them immediately, give them more time. Work with a partner to finish the task. Step2. Come to “Build the vocabulary”. Finish the exercises by the students. If the students have some trouble, write them down on the blackboard. Step3. Come to “Grammar in use”. After finishing the exercises, sum the kinds of adverbials on the blackboard. Ask the student to make more examples to practice them. S1: I didn’t go to school because my bike was broken. S2: We can’t go there before our mothers come back. S3: Even if you tell me, I won’t believe it. Step4. Come to “Speaking the language”. Finish the exercises. Explain and practice important sentences. Work in groups. Let the students act the dialogue out in front of the class. Praise the best one group. Step5. Come to “Putting it al together”. Finish off the exercises. Ask the students to explain the main idea of the text. Step6. Come to “Let’s do the report”. Interview your classmates about their future dreams and work. What work do they like to do? Why? How much money do they get? Step7. Homework 1. Finish off the exercises in activity book. 2.
