By testing method, which included heatingup and observing metallicphase and different forgingratio analyzing results on the different kinds of highman ganese steel casting samples, the conclusion of highmanganese steel cast forging process w as made. The conclusion in cludes the details of the scope of forgingtemperature, the value of forgingrat io, the ef fect on the quality of the forged piece exposed time in the air before the forged cast being put in t o the direct w aterpliable handling and correct settling time. T he result above indicates that highmanganese steel cast ingot can be forged and t he combined frog core rail can be made by forging highmanganese steel. The development of forged highmanganesesteelcore rail combined frog can be realized. By forging, the int ernal bugs in the founding procedure can be eliminated so as to improve the running characteristics and extend the service life of combined frog .
