《绝望 》对纳博科夫艺术创作观的阐释 汪小玲 内容提要:俄裔美籍作家纳博科夫的文学创作处于现代主义向后现代主义转型的时期 ,他独 特的艺术创作观及其在作品中的深刻揭示有效地推动了这一转型。纳博科夫根据自己早期 俄文小说改写的作品《绝望 》是一部精心策划的小说 , 以表面引人入胜的故事传达了他对艺 术创作的理解 ,反映了纳博科夫作为小说家对艺术创作的思考、探索和实践。本文从《绝 望 》文本出发 ,详细论证这部小说对纳博科夫的艺术创作观 ,包括艺术创作的虚构性本质、 原创性特点及纯洁性目的等观点的阐释。 关键词 : 《绝望 》　艺术创作观 　虚构性 　原创性 　纯洁性 作者简介 :汪小玲 ,上海外国语大学研究生部副教授 ,英语语言文学专业博士。近期主要从 事纳博科夫小说及美国黑色幽默小说研究。本文为“上海外国语大学校级科研项目基金 ” 项目成果之一。 T itle: On Nabokov ’s V iews on A rtistic Creation as Illustrated in D espair Abstract: V ladim ir Nabokov ’s novels are mainly written during the transitional period from mod ernism to postmodernism. H is special views on artistic creation and their clear and vivid reflection in his novels efficiently p romote this literary transition. D espa ir, a novel by Nabokov based on his early Russian story and revised by him self, is delicately designed for some literary and artistic purposes. It reads like an interesting story, however, it disp lays the writer ’s thinking and p racti cing in exp loring the essence, the feature and the purpose of artistic creation. This paper, by carefully exam ining D espair, aim s to reveal Nabokov’s views on artistic creation, namely, his un derstanding of fictionalization, originality and purity of artistic creation as illustrated in Despair.
