Abstract: One method for determining chlortetracycline ( CTC) residues in pig faeces using highperformance liquid chro
matography ( HPLCVWD) was developed. The sampleswere extracted with the mixture of acetone, hydrochloride (4 mol/
L) and water in the ratio of 1316(VVV) and centrifuged. Liquid chromatography was performed on C column, the

mobile phase was 0. 01 mol/ L oxalic acid, methanol and acetonitrile (721414) , the detection wavelength was at 375
nm.When the added concentration of CTC was between 0. 5- 10.0 mg/ kg, recovery rates were ( 86. 7% 3. 82%) -
( 101. 95% 3. 37%) ,withinday and daytoday R D (relative standard deviation) were 1. 45% - 7. 11% and 1. 18%
- 3. 25% respectively. Detection limit was 2 ng and the limit of quantification was 0. 5 mg/ k
