Abstract:Themacromodelingandthesolutionoftrafficflowwithroadwidthwereinvestigated.Firstly,anewmacromodelwith
theconsiderationofroadwidthwasproposed.Secondly,theeffectsofroadwidthonuniformflowandsmallperturbationwere
studied.Theanalyticalandnumericalresultsshowthatwidening(shrinking)roadcanenhance(reduce)theequilibriumspeedand
flow,andtheincrements(decrements)willincreasewiththeabsolutevalueofroadwidthgradient.Inaddition,thenumericalresults
illustratethatthenewmodelcandescribetheeffectsofroadwidthontheevolutionsofuniformflowandsmallperturbation.
