A summary is a condensed version of a larger reading. 15.3 　Sample letters Please read the following samples to see how these itineraries and summaries are worded and structured ． 15.4 　Analysis and discussion three basic elements：（1） The title （2） Time （3） Place （4） Activities Question Are you now clear w hat should be included in an itinerary ？ some hints （1） At the beginning ，it is necessary to identify the title ，author and source of the piece. （2） After that ， the writer ought to give the major supporting information which the author gives to explain the main ideas. （3） Conclude （if necessary） with a final statement reflecting the significance of the article — not from the writer’s own point of view ． 15.5 　Points to remember In writing itineraries ，writers should stick to the following principles and steps to make their itineraries more workable．（1）Choose a destination. （2）List the stops and everything to be seen. （3）The next thing the writer should do is to establish a framework for the itinerary. （4）When all this is ready ，the itinerary creator can plan the activities. （5）Write the itinerary.
