Definition of  Manufacturing System The integrated equipment includes production machines and tools, material handling and work positioning devices, and computer systems. Human resources are required either full time or periodically to keep the system running. (2)Positioning--provides for the part to be in a known location and orientation relative to the workhead or tooling that performs the operation. Material transport System (3)Unloading-- When the production operation has been completed, the work unit must be unloaded, that is, removed from the production machine and either placed in a container at the workstation or prepared for transport to the next workstation in the processing sequence.
