Introduction Structure of report Chapter 1 explains the objective of the study and describes the work situations and the structure and implementation of the study. Chapter 2 contains the findings, results and discussion. Chapter 3 provides the conclusions and recommendations. This document concludes with the appendices. Reason and objective The reason for the study was a number of complaints from employees regarding the indoor climate (light, ventilation, temperature). The objective of the study is to be able to reach a decision about the indoor climate in the work areas of ESHCC on three floors of the Van der Goot building of Erasmus University Rotterdam. Tinguely Xperts was asked to conduct a study of the indoor climate. This report contains the results of these measurements. Situation description A number of employees are experiencing health problems that may be related to the indoor climate. The problems range from headaches and dry eyes to nose and throat complaints. People have also indicated that they often find the temperature on the south side of the building too high. Moreover, it is primarily the employees who work on the south side of the building who experience nuisance from direct sunlight, differences in light intensity and bothersome reflections on computer screens. Structure and implementation of the study The occupational hygienist conducted a study of the light intensity and differences in luminance to determine the quantity of light and contrast in the work places, particularly on the south side of the building. These measurements were taken on Monday 11 May 2015, which was a sunny day. Measurements were taken at various locations in the building for a minimum of three working days per location, of the temperature, air humidity and CO2 content with a Qtrak data logger.
