Create a Bolt Region and Bolt Preload * Import a Solid Edge assembly Start Femap and create a new model file. From the main Femap menu select the File, Import, Geometry command. Select the Solid Edge assembly file FemapTraining\Femap_WhatsNew\Bolt_Preload\L_Bracket.asm. In the Solid Edge Read dialogbox, press OK to completereading in the Solid Edgeassembly. (If you are promptedto “OK to Adjust GeometryScale Factor to Match Part?”,select OK). Rotate the view into anIsometric orientation. Exercise – Bolted Assembly * Modify the material properties. In the Model Info window, right-select the first material and select edit. In the Define Material – ISOTROPIC dialog box, select the Load button to select a material from a library. Select the Choose Library button in theSelect from Library dialog box and inthe Library File dialog box, select thematerial library file,“mat_eng_mm-N-MPa-degC-Watts.esp”.Press OK to load the library. In the Select from Library dialog box,scroll down and select the “Aluminum6101 Heat Treated (T6) Wrought” material.Press OK to load the material propertiesinto the Define Material dialog box. Press OK to complete editing the material. Exercise – Bolted Assembly * Assign the updated material to the second property. Right select the second Property in the Model Info window and select edit. In the Define Property – SOLID Element Type dialog box, change the material to 1.. Aluminum 6101 Heat Treated (T6) Wrought. Press OK to apply the changes to the property. Delete the
