Research about Application of Waveform Analysis to Fault Diagnosis of Automotive Electronic Control Engine Abstract Currently the phenomenon of electronic controlled engine fault is analyzed quickly and accurately while the real cause caused by failure is diagnosed, which is one of the most talked about topics in the automotive engine fault diagnosis. The fault self-diagnosis system of electronic controlled engine can analyze common electric control system failure, but some other failure is not reflected, or only some of more vague diagnoses are given and its function is far from practical needs. So flexibility to use various types of auto fault diagnosis tool, using appropriate technology to solve engine electronic control system failure problems becomes more prominent. Automotive electronic control system technology, rapid development, required the fault diagnosis technology to high-tech direction. Oscilloscope as one of auto fault diagnostic tool is playing an increasingly important role. By the os cilloscope we can collect variety of signal waveforms and we can “see” the signal communication between electronic components, diagnose many electronic and mechanical failures, especially in the diagnosis of electronic components or circuit noise and intermittent failures in such areas as the oscilloscope is playing a unique advantage. In the article the normal signal waveforms and a part of fault signal waveform characteristics of main sensors and actuators in electronic controlled engine are studied, analysis the law which the fault component impacts the engine performance.
