Many historic towns and villages lie in the surround of mountains, where the traditional settlement is growing up with special features under the influence of nature and special mode of life, then the various spatial form of traditional mountainous settlement come into being. The sociculture considers that a kind of culture is existing more long, its character is more outstanding and its trend of value is more clear and definite also. The mountainous historic towns and villages have their special territorial culture. They reflect the natural ecologic system and the social culture. The theory of pattern language by Christopher Alexander mainly expounds a kind of design method, a principle of design. By analyzing the mountainous historic towns and villages, we find out there are many pattern including in them, then we apply the design method of pattern language
